THE HOMECOMING PARADE AND PABIDAHAN

The homecoming parade and “Pabidahan” are much-awaited events during the homecoming week. This year, it will be held on December 18, 2019. The day will start with a thanksgiving mass to be held at the Immaculate Conception Chapel of the Philippine General Hospital.

 

Celebrating the mass is no less than silver jubilarian Father Roberto Sian, SJ. The mass will be followed by breakfast at the Nurses’ Home. The first photo opportunity will be by the grand stairs of Nurses’ Home followed by another one by the Oblation in front of PGH. The parade inside PGH then follows and then going to the College for some festivities to be followed by the UPMAS General Membership meeting over lunch. “Pabidahan” of jubilarian classes follows. The host of this year’s talent show are the China jubilarians (20 years) is Class 1999.

MECHANICS OF PABIDAHAN 2019

“TAO PA RIN PALA”

  1. The theme of Pabidahan 2019 is “Tao Pa Rin Pala”, inspired by the annual talent show staged by the students of the U.P. College of Medicine. The alumni are challenged to prove once again that they are “tao PA rin pala”!

  2. Each class is given a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes for their performance which can be a song, dance, skit, spoken word, or any combination of the performing arts.

  3. All files of accompanying music and audio-visual presentation (AVP) that the class will use for their performance must be properly labelled and saved in a flash drive/USB. The flash drive/USB must be submitted to Dr. Mads Cabalona-Banal or Dr. Dalo Sumpaico BEFORE the start of Pabidahan 2019.

  4. Class 1999 has invited a panel of judges that will evaluate all the class numbers based on the following criteria:

    1. Class Participation (25%)

    2. Showcase of Class Talent (25%)

    3. Props and Costumes (15%)

    4. Audience Impact (15%)

    5. Overall Concept of Presentation (20%)

  5. The following awards will be given to deserving classes and individuals:

    1. Pinakamahusay Pa Rin Pala

    2. Pinakamakahulugan Pa Rin Pala

    3. Pinakamarami Pa Rin Pala

    4. Pinakamasaya Pa Rin Pala

    5. Mahusay sa Pag-awit Pa Rin Pala

    6. Mahusay sa Pagsayaw Pa Rin Pala

    7. Mahusay sa Pag-arte Pa Rin Pala

    8. Mahusay sa Pagpapasaya Pa Rin Pala

    9. Mahusay sa Props Pa Rin Pala

    10. Mahusay sa Kasuotan Pa Rin Pala

    11. Bigay na Bigay Pa Rin Pala

    12. Pinaka-bonggang Lalaki Pa Rin Pala

    13. Pinaka-bonggang Babae Pa Rin Pala

  6. The order of class presentations shall be determined by drawing lots of class representatives before the start of Pabidahan 2019.
